am i really...

...keeping up with it all, I mean. Things have been so crazy here lately. As many of students 'round the world know...'tis FINALS season! So, school has been wrapping up and that means due dates and exams, exams and more exams. I feel as if I could not be tested even ONE more time! Don't ask me what I want for dinner, much less the treatments, antigens, and side effects regarding Hepatitis B/HIV coinfections! :) Ok, enough babble. In the meantime, whilst my blog has been neglected, life has continued, baby has been growing! We are getting ready for Christmas-the tree is up, lights are in the windows, Santa's holograms are sticking to the glass and Rudolph's bells are hanging on the front. Bring it on, Santa! :) Ok, so the gifts are not all bought. Oh, and the ones that are haven't been wrapped yet. No Christmas cookies have been baked, or even planned for. Big deal, it'll all come together, right?
One big development that occurred last week, was as I was preparing to photograph my beautiful son so that I may use my newly acquired ability to digitally scrap to make our 2005 Christmas Card, I wasn't thinking and carrying baby and props downstairs I handed the BABY the camera! OOPS! He accidentally dropped it on the ground and yes, there is no delaying telling the inevitable-it is BROKEN! So, Mark and I faced an urgent dilemma! I have been pining over this outrageously expensive camera lately-not that I am a photography buff or anything (as you can probably tell by recent posts) but my friend Jen takes gorgeous pics and I long to have beautiful (or even semi-beautiful) photos of my son! And if she has that kind of camera-maybe all I need is a camera like that! (NOT TRUE)...so, we splurged and charged the camera and accessories. Mark has informed me that it is part of my birthday present + I have to use my pharmacy job salary to slowly pay it off :) Oh well, it is ours. Here's a pic for those of you who are curious.
Canon Digital Rebel XT

So, needless to say, we are reading the manual and playing around with this new toy constantly. I haven't even installed the software yet, so I am not yet able to share with you all of the Xander smiles that I am now able to capture as this camera actually takes a picture once you push the button (unlike our old one that had a 5min delay!!) That is what is impressing the most so far :) But have no fear, soon I will share some new pictures! Hold your pants on! :)
